I have a new job!

This week I started my new job. I now work as a P.A.A. for God! That is His personal Annointed Assitant. These duties include me getting up first thing early every morning and praising and thanking Him for yet another beautiful day of life! Then my morning schedule starts with Scripture Study, walking the dog, my walk power walk workout and then getting dressed. I begin each work day at 9:00 in my office where I begin to utilize myself as God's assistant where I do good works for Him and think of how I can be a blessing to others.

This has helped me to rise up out of this hole I've been in for about a year now. I am no longer think of my own circumstances but now I'm thinking of others and how I can help them. I reccomend this to those who suffer from any kind of depression. You too can become God's P.A.A.! Just start each day praising and thanking Him for your beautiful life and for all the good blessings he has bestowed upon you. Yes, you are blessed even though you might not feel like it right now but I'm sure you can think of one thing such as you just being alive! He can work through you no matter what your situation is. Just look at the disciples Jesus chose to work for him to spread the good word. That is what you can do. Learn the word, Live the word and spread the word! You can have a job today, you are God's P.A.A.! Praise be to God :)

We had so much fun at the zoo!

One of our favorite places to visit is the Norfolk Zoo! We love the freedom to be able to run around and do and see whatever we like. Lukey especially loves seeing and petting the cows. There is this love he has for cows, it's amazing. It is almost like a drug to him how he could just spend hours petting and being with them. I would love to get him his own cow just so he could have this love at home.

I love the zoo because of the beautiful gardens and the new asian themed exhibits and animals. This is the best place to take the young ones who have alot of energy and curiousity. They can run and play and even get soaking wet from the wonderfully fun fountains. Lukey has loved these since he was 3. The zoo is one of the most amazing places to visit here and I dont say that about many things here. It is a peaceful, lovely, awe-inspiring place for kids of all ages!

Happy Fathers Day!

Today is Fathers Day. This means so much to me because I happen to be married to one of the best fathers in the world! My husband does everything and bends over backward for our son. He lets us homeschool, he buys him all of his fav foods, he lets him have new toys every time he takes him shopping ~ in other words he is always so thoughtful of our Lukey.

I am so blessed to have him in my life so today I shall honor him with love and respect. Luke is my best friend and husband who has stood beside me through it all for over 15 years now and I just want to say 'thank you' dear husband of mine, Happy Fathers Day to one of the world's greatest fathers!

Today I'm new and improved!

Yesterday, I woke up and had my typical spa day which includes deep conditioning and washing my hair. I made the mistake by using an African American hair product on my hair which was my biggest mistake I made almost a year ago. Ugh! What a mess this stuff was and wouldnt wash out! Why dont I ever learn! I was so sad and upset about this that I cried the whole day and made my poor son and husband miserable.

Today I vow to renew and improve myself and my mind. Today is a new day so therefore a new me! I will stop worrying about my silly hair and start focusing on being a good mommy and wife. No more AA products either. I need God's help as well. I think the story of Job really helps me out here. This truly is my own test to see how faithful to God I can be regardless how horrible life may seem. I need to change my way of thinking. To start looking at everything positively!

Thank you God for this new day and new me!

Reading List of the Summer

I must say that I am an avid reader. Actually it's more like an addicted reader. I really, truly believe that if I'm not reading a current good book then I get into a slight depression. Yesterday, I decided to try a new library that is not in our town but is a few miles away. This library was small but I was happy to see that they have movies and music cd's to check out as well.

This summer will be a mystery summer for me. I like a good mystery and my favs so far are the Agatha Raisin series. She is so funny and is a mix between Nancy Drew and Agatha Christie. So far I've read two of this series ~ Agatha Raisin and the Murderous Marriage and Agatha Raisin and the Terrible Tourist ~ both of these excellent fun reads. I am currently reading Agatha Raisin and the Wellspring of Death which is a little slower that the previous two but is still quite fun.

I have yet to read M.C. Beaton's other series ~ Hamish MacBeth which sounds interesting as well. I just love the Agatha character because she is always complaining about being middle age and yet she get's more action than most younger ladies including me! She lives in a quaint little English town in her cute little thatched roof cottage with her kitties. Sounds like the perfect life to me! Anyhoo, she does have the problem of living next door to her constant crush James Lacey. This would be absolute torture for me but all in all it is all so very entertaining.

Thank you M.C. Beaton because now I have my complete summer reading list and this includes your wonderful world of Ms. Raisin and her adventures!

Summertime is here...

Well, it is finally summer ~ not officially but in this household it is. I feel as though I'm suffering from post homeschooling syndrome. I miss having a schedule and teaching my son. I miss having something to look forward to on Monday. This was our first year of Homeschooling and I so enjoyed every minute of it except for when Lukey would complain the first 5 - 10 minutes of everyday lessons. I think I might have to come up with some sort of Summer homeschool program before I go crazy with complete and utter boredom!

Today I vow to myself that I will begin to have structure and projects planned for me and my son. I have to look at our resources such as joining other homeschool groups (ugh) and be part of the real world instead of hiding in my cozy house down the dirt road. I now make a list of things that will inspire and give me hope to begin our new summer adventures:

1. Plan fun field trips to our fav places such as the zoo, the beach and to the movies. Some good ones are coming out like Cars 2 and Mr. Poppers Penguins.

2. Get a regular schedule going such as getting dressed and prettied up before Lukey wakes up and have projects planned.

3. Search online for fun things to do at home. We started fun 'Movie Night' last night by watching 'Madagascar' ~ one 0f our favorites of all time. We enjoy playing the game as well!

4. I need to stop feeling sorry for myself and stop having pity parties. I am a young mother who needs to be mentally and physically strong for my son and husband. Please dear God, give me strength!

5. The new Nancy Drew game comes out at the end of the month, this gives me something to look forward to...personally I dont know why HERInteractive has to take so long to put out new games. They must have enough people and money to be able to make more games more often.

This is my own plan for the summer so with prayer and positivity, we shall hopefully make this the best summer ever!

The end is nigh???

Has anyone heard of the end of the world and Jesus coming again on May 21, 2011? Well, for some time now I've had my calendar marked for this day and to tell you the truth it came just a little too fast for me. I have mixed feelings about this. If it is true, I'm just not ready and yet I am more ready than ever. I'm not ready because I love my life, my family and my home. But I know they will come along with me if I am one of the chosen.
On the other hand, I am tired of living this flesh excistence and would love to become a spirit and one of God's children in His kingdom. I have been a faithful servant for quite some time. I love our Heavenly Father with all my heart, soul, mind and might. He is my comforter, my Father. I just hope that all my sins are forgiven.
For instance, I have not been a very good daughter to my poor mother. I do write on occasion with rarely a word back, may I say. But I am not wholeheartedly devoted to her for many reasons, one being she isnt all that devoted to me but more so to my younger sister.
On a lighter note, today is Sunday and I really ought to go to Mass. It's such a struggle to get Lukey to go that it just isnt worth it at times. First of all, I have to get us all dressed nicely and then when we get there it's usually late. Next as we sit up in the top which is like a crying room, all he does is complain about being sick to his stomach or being hungry which I know is wrong because I make sure to feed him a good breakfast before we go. I even pack stuff for him to do there but he is so upset he doesnt care about anything but leaving. You'd think he was Damien or something ~ God forbid! To tell you the truth, it has become a little boring for me as well because it seems all of our Priests are from different countries. They all have heavy accents where it makes it difficult to understand anything they say. So, I'm sitting there like feeling the same way as my ds. Maybe we should try another church...

Gotta love Dairy Cows!

Today I've decided to continue my blogging adventures now that I just found my long lost password to Google. Hooray!

Anyhoo, we are still doing very well with homeschooling. Infact, Lukey is now in 5th grade! I have decided to do an interest led learning program with him and for the time being it is cows! Yes, those wonderful lovely sweet doe eyed dairy laiden bovine creatures are his recent fascination. We even made our own Dairy Cow Lapbook which proved to be worth my time and effort. I used a giant poster board and folded it in half and then folded the front in half again. Here is what it looks like:

I then added pics and pockets and fold-outs of the science, history and info of the beloved Dairy Cow. Who knew there'd be so much to learn!!

This was so much fun to make and Lukey enjoys looking at it all the time. I only wish we could get a real cow. Gotta love the milk on cereal. Inside, the lapbook I added a spot memory game which is really a form of learning multiplication. There is a Life Cycle circle, a model of the backbone because the cow is in the vertebrate phylum and the science of homogenization and pasturization of the milk. This was both a fun unit for both me and my son because with homeschool, I am not only the teacher but the student as well.
